Not precisely an Early Winter update as such, but a bit of activity on the Big Eyes Family Players front. 

 

LIVE DATES

 

The group (featuring James Green, David Jaycock, a Hot Snack and both Acolytes Action Squad-ders) are playing a few live shows over the next few months, as follows:

 

7th April 2010 - The Royal Park Cellars, Brudenell Road, Leeds. Supported by Last Harbour and one other tbc. Doors 8pm, £4 in advance, £5 on the door. Advance tickets from here.

20th April 2010 - The Red House, Solly Street, Sheffield. With Aurelie/The Cardboard Lung. £4 on the door. Doors 7.30pm

3rd May 2010 - The Harley, Glossop Road, Sheffield - Drowned In Sound event, supporting Damon and Naomi.

17th July 2010 - The Union Chapel, Islington, London. Daylight Music sessions

 

A bit of Festival activity will be happening in August too, and TBEFP might be off on a proper tour at the end of May as well. We'll update on this as soon as we have more information.

 

 

RELEASES

 

We're very proud to announce that a James Yorkston & The Big Eyes Family Players song ('Martinmas Time') will be featured on a forthcoming compilation double CD for Folk Against Facism. Other artists on the compilation are Lau, The Unthanks, Roy Bailey, Christy Moore, Shirley & Dolly Collins and Kate Rusby. You can pre-order it now. It is out at the end of April 2010.
